Learn Copywriting While Watching This Video Critique.

by Scott Murdaugh on September 22, 2009

This  is a critique that I volunteered to do for a member of the Warrior Forum…

This sales letter isn’t where it needs to be, I talk about some of the bigger mistakes the copy makes and offer some ideas for improvement. Here’s the original sales page.

Some things I forgot to mention in the video…

  • When I say the headline is “too big” I mean the font, not the length.
  • The design is pretty bad, I’d invest in some graphics.
  • You should make the guarantee as long as possible, preferably 365 days.
  • Don’t get discouraged, and don’t take any of the advice personally… I’m trying to help.

Overall I think the product is marketable, you just need to do quite a bit of work on the copy. Sorry about the screwy Camtasia work at the beginning… It gets better as the video moves along.

Peace,

-Scott Murdaugh

Hey Scott,

I really enjoyed watching the video critique. I think this would be a great regular feature on your blog. Maybe pick one sales letter a week and then do a video critique on what you would improve or change. It’s an awesome way for others (*hint*, me!) to learn copywriting.

Hey Matt.

Awesome, glad you liked it.

I was actually thinking about making it a once of week type of deal. Sounds like a plan to me. I’ll keep ‘em coming.
I really appreciate you stopping by.

Have a good weekend.

-Scott
